Display mode setup¶
There are many ways to ask the same question. Sometimes you want to show the good old radiobuttons, checkboxes and input boxes to interact with the user. However, somtimes you may want to use a special way to display the question. This can be using a drag-and-drop mechanism, or with other bells and whistles.
dotData offers you ways to create your own display modes. A display mode is basically a question type in itself. An alternative to the ‘standard’ question type. You can create your own question types. See Building your own question types to find out how to accomplish that and get going.
dotData offers a lot of built-in display modes. Each one of those has their own methods and setup. Below you will find a list of built-in display modes and the options they provide. They are categorized by ‘main’ question types (single response, multiple response, free text input etc).
Each display mode is based on basic question types that are explained here.
